  • No firm pays to be listed in the directory, to be ranked higher, or to have its articles linked.
  • We do not take referral fees or commissions for introductions.
  • Guides never recommend one firm over another.

How we choose

What earns a place

Directory: a firm is listed once we have checked its registration with the Solicitors Regulation Authority and confirmed it publicly offers advice on CIFAS markers, account closures or de-banking. Firms are listed alphabetically. See the listing criteria.

Law-firm insights: we link to articles that are useful to someone dealing with a marker or a closed account, summarised in our own words. Inclusion is not an endorsement.

News: we summarise what regulators, the Financial Ombudsman, Parliament, the courts and Cifas publish, and link to the original every time.
